Seville is a city full of bars and clubs, with many people on the street wanting to have a good time. Of course, there are also many gay or gay-friendly places. In fact, Seville is the city in southern Spain with the most gay atmosphere and leisure offerings.
During the day…
The main gay area in Seville is La Alameda, a huge square where bars, cafes and restaurants are concentrated and full of young people. Although all the bars in La Alameda are gay friendly, that is, with a mixed atmosphere, there is an area, next to the Casa de Las Sirenas, where there are 3 gay bars that are a meeting point for Sevillians.
These three bars are the Bosque Animado, the Bar Versailles and the Barón Rampante (names as of March 2014, often change). They are open in the afternoons and evenings and are perfect for meeting people and having a coffee or a drink while watching what’s going on. It is a place to see and be seen.
Not far away, about 5 minutes walking, in Trajano street, there is the Emperador Trajano cafeteria with two floors where you can have some nice snacks and drinks before going out.
In the Marqués de Paradas area, in Julio Cesar street, there is the Noveccento, a lesbian bar with the best atmosphere.
At night…
When night falls and you want to have a drink the place is also La Alameda. The bars in the area of La Casa de Las Sirenas are open until approximately 2:30 in the morning.
There are also other more lively places to start the party like the 1987 Bar, which is very fun, with music from the 70s, 80s and 90s to get you off to a great start with the classics. Also in La Alameda there is Utopia, a bar-disco with indie music and a lot of gay and mixed atmosphere.
Other important clubs in Seville are Gold (formerly Malandar or Luxuria) with shows every weekend and a lot of dancing and located 5 minutes walk from the Alameda; Jewel nightclub, on the island of La Cartuja about 15 minutes from La Alameda, with house music and shows to make the night endless, and the Sala Obbio, mixed atmosphere very fun and uninhibited, with concerts and the most animated DJ’s.
In the summer, the same clubs open terraces to enjoy the Sevillian night. As every year they change their name, ask what they are taking away with them that summer.
For a more closed and why not say it, more intimate atmosphere, you should go to Itaca, right next to La Alameda and with three rooms: the dance floor where you can dance House, a relaxation room and a Dark Room.
Another great option is the Men to Men, with an exclusive male atmosphere. It is a bear bar but nothing sordid. It has a very good atmosphere with a dance floor, an upper floor with movies, booths and more. They also organize theme parties, shows and contests.
If you want more entertainment…
Don’t miss the fun Drag Queen’s shows at Itaca, La Bohemia and Bar Versailles. Special mention to the interactive contests that Angelita La Perversa does in La Boheme on Sundays. You will have a great time and be careful not to get caught as part of the show, your friends will not forget it.
Special Events
The Pride in Seville is an event in which the whole city is involved. There are events and activities throughout the week of Pride as cruise parties, concerts, short film screenings and the most fun the parade.
Another great gay event in Seville is GuadalkiBear, an international gathering of Bears and Fans that takes place in different locations and attracts people from all over the world.
And we can’t forget the AndalesGay, the Andalusian Lesbian and Gay Film Festival that takes place every November.
Saunas in Seville
From time to time you feel like disconnecting completely and forgetting that there is a present and a world beyond the place you are in. You can believe us when we say that if there is one place in Seville where it is possible to feel like this, and even better, that is none other than Sauna Termas Hispalis. This place, located in Céfiro street number 3, is considered one of the best gay saunas in Seville, both for its always lively attendance and for its dozens of first quality services.
Here you can find everything from giant swimming pool jacuzzis and steam saunas to cell like massage rooms, dark rooms and glory hole mazes. One of the reasons we love this sauna, besides the obvious one, is because of its incredible weekly promotions, especially the age discounts. In addition, on weekends it is open 24 hours a day.

The Cube
This is one of the youngest and most modern gay saunas in Seville, located at number 8 of Perafán de Ribera street. The Cube Urban offers facilities equipped with the latest technology, focused on relaxation in all its variants. The figures are overwhelming, by the way: more than 800 square metres divided into three areas. The first of these has a Jacuzzi, Finnish style saunas, Turkish baths and private cabins, as well as a smoking area.
Zone 2 houses a bar and the VIP room, as well as a library with all the amenities. Finally, zone 3 is a large maze with an X cinema and a glory hole, among other exciting options. It is open from Monday to Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. On Fridays and Saturdays it closes at 7:00 and 0:00, respectively. On Sundays it opens from 00:00 to 22:30.
- Sauna Alameda
Do you think we wouldn’t get close, even for a moment, to our golden Alameda de Hércules? No guide to gay leisure in Seville would be complete without a reference to the heart of the city’s LGTBI scene, so join us on Jesus del Gran Poder street, where we invite you to visit Sauna Alameda. Here they have opted, and with good criteria, for a suggestive Greco-Roman atmosphere, with services that include a Finnish sauna, giant Jacuzzi, Turkish bath and spacious dressing rooms. Also, for the more adventurous, there is a fully equipped darkroom and glory hole section.
Among its many advantages, Sauna Alameda allows you to reuse your entrance ticket in the same day to visit the facilities several times, paying only the equivalent of two drinks at the bar. For us, without a doubt, it is one of the best gay saunas in Seville.

Papua
What follows is not exactly a gay sauna, although it has very similar facilities and a much wider range of services. This is the Papua Swingers Club, one of the oldest in Seville, open to people of any sexual orientation on the condition that they are happy and uninhibited.
This club also has a swimming pool and Jacuzzi, as well as a barbecue area where tropical-themed parties are often held, in addition to exhibitionist and swinging shows. Mondays are their “Bisexual Day”, with activities and service focused especially on this group. Nudist Sundays” are also organized on their private terrace.
